Meet my friend and client, Carl Cassani from the Great Falls Forest neighborhood. Carl started training with me this past August and is making huge progress! In a short amount of time Carl has already dropped two pant sizes, is wearing his wedding and class rings again and has gained a new appreciation for a fitness lifestyle. He is ecstatic with his new physique and would like to share some of thoughts with you:
I wanted to start working with Jackie after I met her and her husband Dana at the Lowes Island Pool. Jackie is a successful role model so I decided to ask her lifestyle questions about her workout routine and schedule, about her meals, does she drink alcohol, etc. My thought process was, "I want to be successful, and so I'm going to do whatever Jackie does because it is a formula that works"! So, that is what I have done. Basically I've been successful because I've implemented everything Jackie has instructed me to do.
Since I work from home, I get one cardio session in before or right after the kids go off to school, and another session in later in the day for about a total of about 20-30 minutes. I also work out just about every day either doing exercise DVDs, or training with weights. Mentally I set small goals for myself and then add them together. I also follow the diet Jackie recommended, -cutting out processed foods, reducing my empty carbohydrates and wine and adding more protein to my diet. This isn't always easy because I have three kids, coach Lacrosse, have a full-time job and work for the Redskins part-time.
Basically I know now that there just has to be an inner drive. One that says, “I’m tired of being fat, I want to be lean, with cut muscles! “ I also try to stay positive and motivated to accomplish my goals. Overall, I just could not be anymore "stoked". I have always wanted to be a bodybuilder and now I have the opportunity to fulfill a life-long dream. My seasonal allergies are gone, my body mass has decreased from 29% to 23% in only four weeks. I just feel great and I owe it all to Jackie.
